Lastly, I am interested in exploring other cabinet designers. Again, I need someone who can and is willing to communicate with me. If he doesn't know when he can send us the quote or how long the whole process will take, I would appreciate him saying so. I guess this goes hand in hand with needing someone who can/will answer my questions. No doubt he understands what needs to be done but I also need to understand. I need someone who is comfortable explaining this process to me. No doubt he is busy but I just can't work with someone who won't or isn't able to answer my questions. I have many questions that have been left unanswered. Despite enjoying his design, I would be uneasy moving forward with him for the following reasons: However, I need to raise a few issues that I hope can be addressed. We really like the cabinet design John Doe came up with and look forward to receiving his quote soon. Is this normal? Is it ok to go with a different designer? I don't want to upset my contractor.I would also want to be able to shop around if possible. For example, he never asked us for our budget for the cabinets, we have no idea when he will send us a quote, and we have no idea how much thing will cost. He doesn't share much about the process, how long things will take, it is a bit weird. He is a good designer but I feel like the process is a bit rushed, I like to take my time to make the right choice but he barely answers questions. The cabinet designer did the design and will send the quote soon. Our contractor recommended his kitchen cabinet designer. Sigh.Īnonymous wrote:We are in the process of renovating our kitchen (and bathrooms). At this rate we won’t be ordering cabinets by the end of the month and the contractor won’t tell us when he will start until we have a delivery date for the cabinets. We are literally just seating and waiting for him to get back to us. For example he tell us not to order Bosh appliances because they are all backordered, then we causally asked when we would get the cabinets and he said cabinets are taking 5-6 months to deliver, at the same time he is taking his time to send us the design, adjust it and make change. Op here, thanks for this perspective! Do you get a kickback from the designer for sending them customers? I guess I should pressure the original designer to get what I want.

It might be worth talking to someone else for comparison purposes, but also really pressuring the original designer to give you want you want too. If i don’t like how a door looks or how a drawer opens, it gets replaced instantly with no questions asked. With my regular company i always know what to expect on timing and cost and the customer service is great because we do so much business with them.

#Cabinet planner forum page install

There were install issues, i don’t love the way a couple things look, i don’t know the repair/replacement process with the new vendor and it was more expansive and time consuming for us, which I’d pass through to you. We just let a customer on a custom build use their own cabinet company for the first time and definitely it’s the last time too… Anonymous wrote:Just another opposite perspective here.
